This cooperative presentation by Daniel J. Cox and Geoff York, colleagues at Polar Bears International, will highlight the future of polar bears. Geoff and Dan have spent numerous seasons working in the field documenting Geoff’s scientific research with polar bears.

Daniel has been an advisory board member with Polar Bears International since 1996. He’s currently in charge PBI’s long-term endeavor, the Arctic Documentary Project, and he’ll be sharing some of his current and past projects highlighting the field research on polar bears and other arctic species. He is also a Lumix Luminary and will be discussing new still and video technologies that help him tell the important stories of the Arctic.

Geoff will discuss the changes already taking place in the Arctic that will have serious repercussions for polar bears, the iconic animal of the Arctic. Polar bears are listed as a vulnerable species by the World Conservation Union and Geoff’s work with his mentor, Dr. Steven Amstrup, was a big part of the reason polar bears made the IUCN list.
